Increasing INCDMTM performance and international involvement by supporting expertise in advanced mechatronic technologies

Project funded by the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization

Project Description

The main objective of INCDMTM's institutional development strategy is to  increase the performance of research and international involvement, leading to the alignment of the institute as a research organization with other similar entities, primarily in the European Union, but at the same time meeting the national economy requirements. In order to achieve the overall objective, a number of measures will have to be addressed in the context of aligning the institute's activity with RDI strategies and policies at national and European level, as well as exploiting the specific opportunities provided by its quality of national institute. In order to benefit from these opportunities, the general objective includes adapting the thematic approaches of the institute to the directions of intelligent specialization and aligning the scientific activity with the social needs and requirements of the economic environment.

INCDMTM assumes the concept of an innovative institute in Mechatronics, both in terms of human capital formation and in terms of scientific research producing intelligent knowledge, technical and technological results of products, technologies and services with high added value, as well as innovations and high-tech adaptations that condition the country's economic growth.

Taking into account the mission and specificity of the institute, INCDMTM aims to consolidate its development strategy for the period 2021-2025, to support advanced research in the field of Mechatronics.

Another important objective is to ensure and facilitate the access of researchers to the latest generations of equipment by developing infrastructure through new acquisitions and modernizing existing ones, as the institute's performance is dependent on the creation and endowment of research and testing laboratories and the working conditions provided.

The establishment of project development priorities for INCDMTM results from the need to adapt the institute to the new existing conditions at national and European level.

In line with INCDMTM's development strategyPERFORM-MECH  project will support the increase of research performance, visibility and international involvement by supporting skills in advanced mechatronic technologies, and will be implemented over a period of 30 months, from January 2022 to June 2024.
